Best Practices Do's and Don'ts
When getting engagement from your team this is what we found to be the most helpful
DO
Keep messaging short – you can have up to 30 cards in a stack, but we recommend keeping each stack to a max of 12. We found that after going beyond 12 cards you lose the interest of the employee
Preview messaging is not only in the web app, but you can send a preview to your phone and use it to show your coworkers and see how well it works
Message frequency affects employee engagement. With every company, most workers can have multiple supervisors. Being aware of how many messages are going out throughout the day is key. You don’t want to bombard the team with messages from multiple Admins
Always verify your audience and look at who it's being sent to and see if there are people missing. Information can be sensitive based on departments as well. Make sure to be aware of when you’re sending out broadcasts and use the tools available to properly schedule when your message is received
The tone of the broadcast most of our broadcasts are meant to encourage employee engagement. This is a communication tool meant to help the team be aware not to make the tool into a negative interaction
Be creative and use our resources. We have increased the number of tools for you to broadcast powerful messages and we hope our templates add to the inspiration of making some creative card stacks
DON'T
We are a communication app built to help streamline your voice. It's easy to forget what not to share over the app. You should never share personal data, private content, or HIPAA. OurPeople is to be used for sharing HR Policies, Health & Safety, and other non-personal materials
When having group chats, or Broadcasts it's important not to share usernames and passwords. Once your Broadcast is sent out you are relying on your team members to protect that data
Legal documents, Customer Data, Inappropriate content, and financial information should not be broadcast on OurPeople it's good to keep in mind what is sent out on OurPeople cannot be retracted
